Best Vampire Books

Twilight seems to be taking the world by storm, and it is driving me mad because I am a hard core Anne Rice fan, more into the classic vampires who you know burn in sunlight instead of glittering etc... don't get me started on thunder baseball... anywho was wondering what series/ books other people liked best. Promise not to lambaste you if you do like Twilight, I just have a laundry list of reasons I don't. lol.
